Live a balanced life. Learn some and think some and draw and paint and sing and dance and play and work everyday some. Take a nap every afternoon. When you go out into the world, watch out for traffic, hold hands and stick together. Be aware of wonder.

November 2

Welcome back after a wonderful weekend. I am excited to update you on what we have been doing in our room these past few days. We had fun making Chicka Chicka Boom Boom trees with our names on them.

We are working hard on our cutting and gluing skills. Encourage students to practice cutting things out at home.

This week we are learning about the letter m. We are practicing our handwriting with capital M's and lowercase m's. Our favorite thing to do is write in rainbow letters.

We have been talking about what it means to be a good communicator in kindergarten. We are remembering to speak clearly, and give eye contact. When we listen to speakers we remember to face them and give them eye contact. We practice greeting and speaking to each other every morning during morning circle.

We continue to talk about people in our community. We talk about the different jobs, people and places to visit in and around South Saint Paul. Over the next coming weeks, we will be having many guest community speakers come in and share their expertise with our kindergarten students. Ask your student about various community helpers and the tools they use in their jobs (firefighters use hoses and ladders).

Family turkey projects look awesome. I will take a picture of our display for tomorrow's website post. If you still haven't turned yours in, please send it with your student soon.

PS. Ask your student to make the letter m in sign language.
